"We Care" Thank You

“We Care” was again the theme for our second annual luncheon held on October 22, 2009. Close to two hundred people gathered at the Clinton Inn to help raise money and awareness about the pressing needs of women in our community. Guests enjoyed the poignant, funny, and profound remarks of our keynote speaker, Nina Pineda, who reminded us that we are all part of a greater whole and that helping women help themselves improves our communities, our economy, and our world.

Angele Leaptrot and Bea Reynolds moved the audience with stories of courage, determination, and triumph. Their heartfelt remarks connected the audience to the many struggles endured by women in our community. Their stories highlighted the important work of the Center and helped us raise $40,000.

Thank you to our Advisory Committee and many volunteers for organizing a successful and meaningful event. Thank you to our donors for your continued support. This event has grown in size and numbers over the last two years demonstrating to all of us that when people learn about the Center they want to help. They want to give because they care.
