Our New Executive Director,
Esmilda Abreu, Ph.D.

Dr. Abreu took over the reigns as the Center’s Executive Director April 13th.
Serving the Center in many capacities over the years, Dr. Abreu is now tasked with renewing the Center’s capacity to realize its mission of helping women help themselves and their families in today’s changing environment.

The classified in February of 1983 read “Manager: Women’s Center”.  I don’t remember the rest. What did it mean? Was there such a place?  For women?  Later I learned that a building had been purchased in Englewood by a fledgling organization that had prior to this been housed in donated or rented space.
